Walking trails and Alpine lakes

Pristine mountain lakes in the Italian Dolomites

Walk up to some of the many jewel-like lakes, both large and truly tiny, which the Dolomites are dotted with in the midst of some of the most startling and unexpectedly shaped natural spires, pinnacles and battlements in the Alps on walking routes for all difficulty levels.

Some Dolomite trail options to walk to and relax by some of the many idyllic high mountain lakes:

- a circular route walking up to the jewel-like, high Alpine lake at the foot of Mt. Sorapiss and descending in pretty forests (6 hours);

- climb up and descend on even paths to the breathtaking, pristine Croda da Lago lake encircled by a stunning array of Dolomite peaks (6 hours);

- a circular route around the very famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo Dolomite peaks, walking at over 2200 metres (7200 feet) throughout with enormously varied, 360-degree views, past idyllic and pristine mountain lakes (6.5 – 7.5 hours).
